It was all joy and elation for the incumbent Parliamentary Member for Awutu Senya West, Nenyi George Andah as he again got an overwhelming approval from delegates to represent the NPP in the December 7 polls.
Prior to Saturday’s primaries, the delegates had pledged their support to the deputy communication minister and vowed to give him the lion’s share of their votes.
After voting had ended and ballot papers counted, NGA pulled 438 votes representing 69.53% as against his competitor, Mr Joseph Aidoo’s 191 representing 30.31% with One spoilt ballot representing 0.16% making the former carry the day.
Mr Aidoo, who is by profession a banker at the Bawjiase rural bank congratulated George Andah on his victory and promised to forge a united front, throw his weight behind him so as to ensure the victory of the party in the bigger battle to come.
The Awutu Senya West law maker was full of gratitude to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and has pledged to continue with his stellar achievements should he emerge victorious in the upcoming December general elections.
The highly rated politician is confident of retaining his seat as he looks set to fend off competition from the NDC’s Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui and break a long standing streak of no parliamentary member winning the Awutu Senya West seat consecutively.
